Launched in 2005, the programme 20 Authors aims to promote the Romanian literature onto the international book market.

Publishers, cultural personalities, literary critics and all those interested in the Romanian cultural phenomenon have been suggesting titles susceptible to arouse the interest of western publishers. 

A panel made up of experts in the fields of literature, arts and philosophy have selected a series of twenty authors from various literary fields: poetry, novel, prose, essay, philosophy, memoirs, contemporary history, theatre. 

This programme ensures the full financing of the translation through a direct contract with the translator and covers a quantum of the editing expenses.
