New editorial projects to be supported through the Publishing Romania programme following this year's first evaluation session

The Romanian Cultural Institute
will support, through the Publishing Romania programme, the publication of a new historical album by a Polish publishing house as well as that of three thematic issues of prestigious cultural magazines dedicated to Romanian culture in France, Hungary and Poland. The financing applications were received at this year’s first evaluation session of the programme.

Two applications were received for Section I (albums and books) and three applications for Section II (magazines). The evaluation session was held on 2 March 2009. The members of the jury were: Ruxandra Demetrescu, the rector of the National Academy of Fine Arts in Bucharest, Radu Paraschivescu, writer, translator and Mircea Vasilescu, editor-in-chief of Dilema Veche magazine.

Under Section I, Polish publishing house Karta will receive the support of the Romanian Cultural Institute to publish an album dedicated to the Polish refugees in Romania between 1939 - 1945. Under Section II, the following projects will receive financial support: Cahier de l’Herne, with a special issue dedicated to E. M. Cioran, the Hungarian edition of Lettre Internationale with a special issue dedicated to Romanian culture and literature and Polish magazine Mowia Wieki, with a thematic issue dedicated to Romanian history.

The evaluation results of this session are available under Subsidised projects.
