650 printed titles and 30 audiobooks, from 25 publishing houses, have supplied, within the 108 square metres of the stand, an overview of the Romanian book market.

The stand also provided the representatives of the Romanian publishing houses with areas where they could meet with potential partners or foreign collaborators.

The programme included a workshop entitled Book Business in Romania. The literary critic and publicist Marius Chivu gave a lecture called Introducing the New Romanian Literature and Book Market whereas Florin Bican, in his presentation Translation and Publication Support Programmes – Funding Strategies spoke about the programmes carried out by the Romanian National Book Centre, founded in 2007 as part of the Romanian Cultural Institute.

The Romanian stand reunited, under the slogan Writers from a Country Hard to Write, some of the most prestigious Romanian publishing houses: Ad Libri, All, Brumar, Cartea Românească, Corint Publishing Group, Curtea Veche, Gramar, Humanitas, Idea, the Publishing House of the Museum of Romanian Literature, Igloo Media, Nemira, Niculescu, Noi Media Print, Paralela 45, Polirom, Rao, the Publishing House of the Romanian Cultural Institute, Simetria, Teora, Trei, Triade, Tritonic, Vremea.

Upon the conclusion of the book fair, most of them consented to offer the books they had presented to the libraries of the Romanian cultural institutes abroad.
