The well-known literary magazine Lampa has recently published, with the support of the Romanian Cultural Institute through the Publishing Romania programme, a full issue dedicated to Romanian literature. The one hundred pages long issue includes translations from Ştefan Baştovoi, T.O. Bobe, Florina Ilis, Claudiu Komartin, Ion Manolescu, Ştefania Mihalache, Ioana Nicolaie, Răzvan Ţupa, Daniela Raţiu, Răzvan Rădulescu, Miruna Vlada, Elena Vlădăreanu, Lucian Dan Teodorovici, Ioan T. Morar, Ovidiu Nimigean, Radu Paraschivescu, Ioan Es. Pop, Simona Popescu, Octavian Soviany, Daniel Vighi and Horia Ursu.

The translation of the excerpts belongs to some of the most talented young Polish translators from Romanian, Joanna Kornaś-Warwas, Tomasz Klimkowski and Dorota Sobiak.

Anca Maria Mosora's "Arhanghelii nu mor" has been published by the Czech publishing house Kniha Zlin, with the support of the Romanian Cultural Institute, through the TPS programme. The volume was translated by Jirina Vyoralkova.

Filip Florian's novel was recently published by the prestigious German publishing house Suhrkamp. Translated by Georg Aescht, the German version received the financial support of the Romanian Cultural Institute, through its 20 Romanian Writers financing programme. Through the financing programmes of the Romanian Cultural Institute, "Degete mici" was already published  in Hungarian and Polish, and another two editions are scheduled  to appear in 2009: the Slovenian and the American ones.

The National Book Centre of the Romanian Cultural Institute together with institutions and foundations from Germany, Bulgaria and Greece took part in the project entitled Balkan Alphabets, started in 2007 by Künstlerhaus Edenkoben with the purpose of promoting South-Eastern poetry onto the German literary market. Within the project, three German poets shall translate, throughout several creative workshops, series of three poets from Bulgaria, Greece and Romania.

Between 14 – 18 May, 2008 Sabine Küchler, Hans Thill and Ernest Wichner met at the Cultural Harbour Cetate with poets Constantin Acosmei, Iulian Tănase and Vasile Leac and translated their poems into German. The translations shall be published in the autumn of 2009 by the German publishing house Wunderhorn, and the Romanian poets shall be invited to attend lectures and meetings with the German audience.

In the selection of the Bulgarian, Greek and Romanian authors, the project initiator, Künstlerhaus Edenkoben, sought authors who are representative of the young poetry from various regions of each attending country. The choices aimed at revealing the linguistic diversity of the part of Europe.

Next to the Romanian Cultural Institute and Künstlerhaus Edenkoben, the partners in this project are the Pygmalion Foundation (Bulgaria), the Translation Institute Ekemel (Greece) and the Cultural Foundation Mircea Dinescu – The Cultural Harbour Cetate.
