În perioada 25-28 septembrie 2008, România a participat pentru prima dată în calitate de expozant la Târgul de Carte Bok & Bibliotek de la Göteborg, cel mai mare eveniment cultural din Scandinavia. Standul românesc s-a desfăşurat sub titulatura Voci din România şi a fost conceput şi organizat de Institutul Cultural Român

În perioada 20 – 22 aprilie 2009, Institutul Cultural Român a organizat pentru a doua oară consecutiv standul României la Târgul internaţional de carte “The London Book Fair”, una dintre cele mai importante manifestări de profil din lume.
