Following a budget amendment, the Romanian Cultural Institute will be able to subsidize the costs for all the 72 winning projects (those that have obtained a score of at least 60 points) from the 2021-2022 session of the TPS and Publishing Romania programmes.
In the case of the publishing houses that plan on releasing their books this year, we invite them to sign the contracts, which will be provided by the National Book Center, as soon as possible.
There were 108 applications for the Translation and Publication Support programme and 13 applications for the Publishing Romania programme. Following the budget amendment, a number of 44 projects have also been declared eligible for a grant. Therefore a total of 68 TPS projects and 4 Publishing Romania projects have been granted financing.
The evaluation panel was formed of Ștefan Borbély (university professor, literary historian and essayist), Ioana Gruenwald (translator and communications expert) and Maria-Ana Tupan (university professor, literary historian and critic).
The Romanian Cultural Institute pursues its pledge to support the translation programmes in the long term and maintains its commitment to promote cultural dialogue.
